The dining experience at the Holiday Inn was a delightful surprise! Chef Steve and team went above and beyond with dietary needs, crafting meals that were both delicious and accommodating. The breakfast buffet was a highlight, with a range of hearty options that left everyone satisfied! Truly, they took good care of us all, making our family stay feel special.
Not all was peachy—the reception staff could've used a sprinkle of warmth. Plus, a £2.50 pain au chocolate that hardly measures an inch is a laughable oversight. And one would expect a TV remote to work without employing the finesse of a magician!

great base for exploring beautiful yorkshire attractions
I brought my mum and dad up for the weekend, and we were thrilled with how central this place is for exploring the beauty of Yorkshire, especially with Richmondshire Museum just a short drive away for some local history and the stunning Friary Gardens War Memorial nearby for a pleasant stroll amid serene park views. the hotel also offered a lovely breakfast and the staff were incredibly helpful, particularly a gentleman named Steph who made our dining experience feel special and welcoming, so I’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy some city walks.

The hotel has a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff, though the maintenance of the rooms could use attention, particularly with issues like mold and outdated decor. Breakfast had a few culinary missteps, but the overall dining experience was more than satisfactory. It remains a decent choice for a stay.
